Ill be honest...im confused. Can someone explain the story line up to the D'Alessio Seaboard??

Basically, the three human kingdoms are at war with each other. The Charr are kept out of the human lands by the Great Northern Wall. One day, the Charr launches a magical maelstrom on Ascalon and "sears" the land, overruning the humans. Ascalon is destroyed and the Charr moves on to Kryta and Orr. The King of Orr, after listening to his advisor, decides to use the Sceptor of Orr and cast a dark magic to repel the Charr. It works, and destroys the Charr that's overruning the capital, but Orr also sinks to the bottom of the ocean. The Royal family in control of Kryta flees, and Saul D'Allesio returns from the Desert and creates the White Mantle, pushing back the Charr.

You are a soldier of Ascalon, trying to protect what remains of it from the Charr. Prince Rurik leads you on several missions against the Charr, and eventually you head to Rin to find it burnt to the ground. You push the Charr back from the city, but it is too late to save it. King Adebern wants to rebuild the City, but Rurik sees that it is futile and wants to leave for Kryta. The King in is enraged and kicks Rurik out, so Rurik takes you and his followers into the Northern Shiverpeaks to cross into Kryta.

The Deldrimor Dwarves were allies of the Ascalonians, but right now they are in a civil war with the Stone Summit. You help King Ironhammer resecure his lands and also fight through the Frost Gate. Rurik is killed at the end of the Frost Gate, but you and the rest of the Ascalon Refugees are able to safely make your way to the Gates of Kryta.

When you arrive at Kryta you find that the Krytans are having a problem with the undead. You help exterminate the horde of undead outside of Lion's Arch and is granted passage. The Ascalonians are allowed to settle a bit away from the city, in what is now the Ascalon Settlement. However, you and the 4 heros (Cynn, Devona, Aidan, Mhenlo) are suspicious of the White Mantle and their motives.

Because the White Mantle granted you refuge, you are helping them go to the Temple of Tolerance to secure the Sceptor of Orr from the undead.
